We need a market area, where we can post WTS/WTT/WTB... It'd be pretty interesting to say the least. I always have a bunch of random car stuff to sell.

But on the other hand, I like to think of oppo as a group of friends who don't involve money in their friendship, and we all know how a few sour disputes over money and transactions gone afoul can ruin a community and bring contempt for others.

Ebay? But I think the idea can be improved upon. What if it was a place where we could buy stuff recommended by other oppo users, such as sticker, cheychains, car stuff from amazon, mod shops,or other small companies.

Kinja is not condusive to long running debates. It's better to have people come back many times, asking the same questions and generating more adviews.

We could make do with tags [WTS] [WTT] [WTB], but people won't use them if they don't know a market place exists. You'd need a sticky post (not possible right now) to notify people, or a daily(?) post with all the Oppo necessities, including links to stuff like members map, how to get autorship, etc.*

Perhaps one could just copy/paste this and schedule them to be posted. If you're up to the task, we can come up with something and set it up. I've been toying with such ideas for a while now. Lemme know. :)

* There have been a few such posts (e.g.: http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/welcome-new-op… ), but what I'm talking about needs to be a bit more to the point.

That's one of my concerns... I used to be in North American Motoring (MINI), and while it was a cool forum, and I learned a lot, I got burned twice, which really surprised me coming from that group. It'd be akin to getting screwed on NASIOC.

I'd really hate for that to happen here.

And, as several have helped me out, I'm typically open to give away stuff, but sometimes things are a little too big or a little too valuable to give away.

However, if anyone has a R53 Mini Cooper S, and needs parts, let me know. I have a few odds and ends from when I had mine that are just collecting dust. I was going to ebay them or CL them for Seven money.

I have miscellaneous Miata parts, too.

My biggest concern would be clogging up the main blog/post area. I don't want to do with WTS ads what morons were doing with the constant dance party/word pun posts.
